Matt Morris

Matt Morris is originally from Atlanta, but has been thriving in Portland since 1997. He has been beekeeping organically for 12 years, and his enthusiasm for this work is infectious. Matt’s beekeeping adventures and business savvy have led to this unique business venture. He enjoys gardening, telling jokes, and taking care of his animal friends and awesome wife.

Bergen Langlois
National Sales Manager

After graduating from Smith College and then Antioch University where she earned a BS in Economics and an MS in Business, Organization & Management, Bergen had the privilege of working with Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. John Douillard at the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center in Lancaster, MA before joining Gaia Herbs as Director of National Sales. Bergen, working closely with owner, Ric Scalzo, led the team through a rapid growth phase including the company’s relocation to Brevard, NC. She later moved to Ashland, Oregon where she held the position of National Sales Manager for Herb Pharm for almost a decade during which time they achieved #1 Spins ranking. Bergen still resides in Oregon and joined Mickelberry Gardens as National Sales Manager in 2019. She spends most of her weekends enjoying the outdoors with her healthy, strong, and fearless granddaughter.

Fred Coutts
Distribution Sales Manager

Fred Coutts is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for natural, organic & specialty products.  During his 40+ year career, Fred has been involved in hundreds of product launches coast to coast from retail to broker to manufacturer and understands what makes products successful and traps to avoid.
Fred joined the Mickelberry Team in 2023!

Advisory Board

Martin McClanan
Advisory Board Member

Martin met Matt and Madelyn through the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, and joined as a Mickelberry Gardens advisory board member in 2023. 
Martin has extensive experience with CPG companies as both a CEO and an investor, and brings extensive knowledge about E-Commerce to our organization.
He is passionate about sustainability, regenerative agriculture, food, and wine.

Blair Kellison
Advisory Board Member
Blair has spent 25 years in the Natural Products industry as a CEO, most recently spending 14 years as the CEO of Traditional Medicinals tea.
Blair brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about our industry. He currently serves as an advisor and board member for multiple companies, and we are fortunate to have welcomed him to our advisory board in 2023.

Staff Members

Jaime Darnell
Production and Warehouse Manager

Jaime fell in love with Portland and moved here in 2013. Before becoming intrigued by the medicinal properties of honey and plants, Jaime worked as a chef and kitchen manager. Jaime loves all the adventures that Mickelberry Gardens has brought his way, and is proud to Bee apart of their sustainable bigger picture! He is a jack of all trades, and his head for organization and processes is a huge asset to the Mickelberry Gardens team, and he's been with us since 2016. 

Jake Weber
QA/QC Specialist

Jake has extensive background in the QC field, working for multiple different food manufacturing companies in a QC role. We are happy to have his experience, eye for detail, thoroughness, understanding of microbiology, and love of music on our team! 

Christopher Roth
Herbal Production Specialist 

Chris has a lot of experience as a maker, from working in restaurants to crafting jams and producing wine. His background and passion for herbs makes him perfect to be in charge of making our tonics, skin care, and tinctures!

 Guy Hodyl
Herbal Production Specialist

Guy joined our team in 2022, and we are lucky to have him to help with all things production. From pressing tinctures, to assisting with bottling, to portioning bee pollen and beeswax, he does everything with care an an awesome attitude!

Production Support, Bottling and Packaging Crew
Greg's eye for detail, steady hands, and sense of humor are the perfect match for ensuring everything we produce is done so with care and consistency. He's been with us since 2021.

Rich Lee
Shipping Specialist
Rich joined our team in 2022. His background in both warehouse, shipping, and e-commerce is a huge asset to making sure all of our packages and freight shipments are assembled and put together with care. He's a big part of the quality and positive experience we strive to give our customers when they unpack our products!

Lori Dickerson
Farmers Market Support

You can find Lori's friendly face representing Mickelberry Gardens at our Farmers Market booth every Saturday - she's been helping out with farmers markets since 2014! She has background in nutrition and astrology, and has also helped out behind-the-scenes in our production space.
